Museum of Earth
Olot, Spain
2026
The project proposes a museum in Olot, Catalonia, Spain, conceived as an extension of the unique volcanic landscape that defines the city and the surrounding region of La Garrotxa. Rather than acting as an isolated object, the building seeks to establish a direct relationship with its surroundings, blurring the boundaries between architecture and landscape.
The museum is organized as a sequence of spaces that gradually reveal the landscape, combining exhibition rooms with courtyards, terraces, and areas of natural light. The circulation becomes a continuous promenade, creating different relationships between the visitor, the artwork, and the surrounding environment.
Through the use of topography, light, materiality, and framed views, the project aims to create an immersive experience in which the museum becomes part of the landscape itself, connecting Olot’s artistic tradition with its volcanic identity.
